Escape with the Sweet Wick Candle Giveaway

Remember the old “calgon, take me away” commercials? I never really got the begging request of that commercial until I became a mommy. That completely desperate plea for quiet, solitude; and some semblance of being able to hear your own voice. After a day of hearing, “mommy, mommy, mum, mum, mommy” and feeling like the parent of Stewie from Family Guy, I need something!!

Candles are my secret weapon. Yes, sometimes I can actually get a long enough stretch of time to enjoy a good soak in the tub, but that is the exception and not the rule. But lighting a candle anywhere I happen to be around the home and just soaking up the scent and hypnotism of the flicker, give me just a small enough escape.

So I am so excited to be able to share a little bit of my secret weapon with you this week!!

The Detailed Decorator

I had the pleasure of meeting Jaime at a networking event several months back. At the event they had some door prizes, including a hand-poured soy candle. Oohhh, my heart was all a flutter, especially when they called my name. I can’t believe it, but I was actually disappointed to win something. Yep, you read that right. I won, but it was not the candle. Oh well.

After the event, I got the opportunity to talk to Jaime. I was just in awe that she actually hand-poured her candles. They were a casual chic, that could fit into any decor or style of room. Local products and entrepreneurs have my heart! So the fact that these gems of flickering relaxation were hand-made by someone I have now met, and within driving distance from me, were almost more than I could even fathom.

The very next week, I had a special delivery at the front door. It was a small package from the Detailed Decorator. Could it be? I opened the package to find that very same candle that I did not win. I can’t even explain to you how fast I had it set down and fired up!

Sweet Wick Candles

I have burned enough candles to spot the mark of quality. There is nothing worse than a candle that doesn’t burn clean. I don’t need black smoke when I am trying to escape. I can most likely find that in my chaotic day as I put out the fires from work, and a curious 3 year old who thinks he is going on 30.

What I did find was my ultimate goal...an escape, solitude, and peace!!!

Sweet Wick candles are not only a local product, but these 100% soybean wax candles are made from soybeans grown in the USA. Their simplicity resembles the clean, modern design of some other brands, but without the hefty price tag that usually accompanies those.

The scent is just invigorating enough to cause your nose to be curious and your brain to segue to another place. Pick your destination. There are many to choose from. With “Spa Bliss”, essential oils of eucalyptus and spearmint massage your soul and soothe your mind. Or choose a tropical escape with “Jamaica Me Crazy”. With a growing list of over 12 different choices, there is sure to be an escape just for you!

Disclosure: Expedition Mom was not monetarily compensated for this post, but we sure did dig the surprise candle. Giveaway courtesy of Sweet Wick Candle Company.
